Charleston Fashion Week [Celeb Status]

During my stay in Charleston, I was so honored to be able to meet some awesome fashion inspirations of mine!

I have the absolutely C R A Z I E S T story about how I was able to get into a VIP lounge and meet Steve Madden and Fern Mallis (Founder of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week)! OK, so being a volunteer this week for fashion wasn't exactly the most glamorous job, but I enjoyed every minute of it and loved getting to watch the shows for free! However, getting in to the Belk VIP tent definitely was not on my list of things that I expected to happen, but luckily enough, I got to attend! It all started one afternoon before I was going in to volunteer for that nights show...

I was getting ready for the show, when I got a tweet from the FAB and AMAZING @rulesforbelles twitter account asking me if I was going to the Belk VIP tent for a press event. I wasn't planning on going (definitely wasn't on the list to get in), but was absolutely all about it! So I threw on a fashionable outfit and ran down to the tent not knowing at all what to expect, but absolutely ECSTATIC to meet Caroline, the mastermind of the fabulous blog, Modern Magnolias, and the brilliant twitter account @rulesforbelles. When they found out I was a blogger, I was able to get past security (def not as popular as they assumed it was, but it got me in!).

When I entered my first VIP event at CHSFW I was so excited to meet @rulesforbelles being such a big fan for so long of her awesome twitter account! It got even better because when I met Caroline, we not only instantly hit it off, but she told me that STEVE MADDEN and FURN MALLIS were standing behind me! I'm kind of a celeb junky and so being in the same room as them was absolutely a dream.  I headed over to meet Steve (Yes, we are on a first name basis) and introduced myself.  He then proceeded to complement my shoes... I screamed in my head because there is nothing better than Steve Madden himself telling you that he loves your shoes.  Unfortunately, they were Target shoes so I was like CRAP, I CAN'T TELL STEVE MADDEN I BOUGHT MY SHOES AT TARGET!

I told him that I couldn't remember the designer... So yes, I told a little white lie to Steve Madden, but at the time it seemed better than him judging me for wearing shoes from Target.  We then chatted for a bit and he gave me some career advice. After that, we took some fab pics on my phone and got our picture taken by some press. I then got to chat with some really awesome bloggers and introduced myself to THE Furn Mallis.

I walked out of the tent and this basically happened once I hit the bathroom...

What can I say, I'm proud to say that I'm a crazy fan girl and I have the pictures to prove it.

 Fern Mallis and I! :)

Charleston Fashion Week! [Street Style]

Charleston Fashion Week was absolutely incredible and I don't think that I can fit it all into one post. I'm going to write multiple blog posts throughout the week talking about my week in Charleston, so stay tuned!

Celebs. Bloggers. Designers. Models. Fashion. Style. E V E R Y W H E R E I turned... What more could you possibly want? Oh, yeah a fabulous week in the south with the best food and drinks around! In the five days that I was in Charleston, SC, I absolutely fell in LOVE with the city. It's safe to say that I'm ready to pack up and move, ASAP.

So let's talk F A S H I O N

Volunteering for CHSFW was such a great experience and I'm super pumped to be able to add it to my resume. More importantly, watching the runway shows was an absolutely incredible experience. I also enjoyed people watching and seeing what people from all over were wearing. I saw all kinds of outfits! I saw some crazy outfits that were super out there that I really loved and some super awesome trendy styles that I'm ready to try!

I can say that from watching street style, I saw a little bit of everything! One of my favorite looks of the week was the midi-skirt with a crop top. They were literally everywhere and the crop top is definitely not going anywhere this spring! Now, I will admit I used to be against the whole crop top thing. I still am if it's just to show off your belly button and stomach...But pairing it with a midi-length, high waisted skirt, and having just a peek of skin showing is definitely something that can still be classy! These are a few of my favorite ways to wear the crop top for the spring!

I love how Anne Hathaway shows off just enough skin without being too revealing.
This long flowy skirt looks great paired with the white crop top!

I found this picture on Pinterest and absolutely love this entire look.
The stripes, the red, and the black booties pull together this outfit in such
fabulous way!

I love the crop top look with a pencil skirt and I absolutely love the bright neon colors.
Perfect outfit going into spring!

Those are a few of my favorite classic midi-skirt looks paired with a crop top for this spring. When pairing a crop top with a skirt or anything, keep it tasteful and remember that it's way classier to show less! :)

Stay tuned for my next blog post where I will talk about meeting the one and only STEVE MADDEN a long with other awesome celebs and designers!
